
Drayson Bowman scored the eventual winner in the second period and Dustin Tokarski was spectacular with 53 saves as the Western Hockey League-Champion Chiefs downed the Ontario Hockey League’s Kitchener Rangers 4-1 in Sunday’s final.
The Chiefs, who finish a perfect 4-0 at the tournament, had not won the Memorial Cup since 1991.
Judd Blackwater, Jared Cowan and Trevor Glass scored the other goals for Spokane, and Brandon Mashinter scored Kitchener’s lone marker.
