Wednesday May 21- Celtics vs. Detroit

Welcome to my blog. This blog will provide you with make take and interpretation of the top two sporting events of every evening. To start off here is my coverage of Game 1 of the NBA Eastern Confrence Final between the Boston Celtics and the Detroit Pistons.

Boston sports fans have been treated to an exposion of athletic talent in the past two days. Yesterday, Red Sox pitcher Jon Lester pitched the 18th no-hitter in Red Sox history and the Cletics All-Star pairing of Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce wowed the TD Banknorth Garden crowd with thier dominace on the floor. Garnett and Pierce had a combined 48 points (55% of Celtics points) 15 rebounds and 10 assists. What really suprised me about the Celtics was how energetic their team was overall. Their starting 5 seemed to have a endless amount of energy despite the fact that they had only one day off after defeating Lebron James and the Cavaliers in Game 7 on Sunday.

"Rest is not an option," said Garnett. "So we don't even think about that."

One player that I think did not get enough credit for their play last night was Rajon Rondo of the Celtics. Despite scoring only 11 points overall he scored 7 of them in the fourth quarter.

Many believe that the Celtics are going to run away with the NBA Championship, which could happen, but I wouldn't count out the Pistons. Until the Celtics get a convicing win in Detroit I still beleive that Detroit will make this a close series.
